About Us

Dr De Jongh graduated in 2008 at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa.  He worked in both the public and private sector until 2014 when he emigrated to South Australia.  After working for South Australian Dental Service from 2014 – 2019 he made the move to full- time private practice in August 2019.  He is committed to provide sound evidence- based treatment and strives to keep up to date with the latest developments in dentistry. Carel has a keen interest in endodontics (root canal treatment) and dental restorative work.

Growing up on a sheep and cropping farm back in South Africa, Carel found the adjustment easy and familiar since moving to the Yorke Peninsula.  Dr. De Jongh and his wife are the parents of two active children.  Carel enjoys spending time with his family and travelling.  He has a keen interest in woodwork and sees himself as an enthusiastic novice woodworker (the emphasis on novice).  Even though it has been a while, Carel is also a keen tennis player and enjoys watching rugby union.
